Carpet Cleaning Secrets

Cleaning your carpets is a task you need to do in order for you to keep mold and fungi out of your home. But are you cleaning your carpets effectively and correctly? Are you really keeping mold and fungi from invading your carpets and home?

There are a few ways you can make sure that your carpets are really clean, a few secrets you might want to consider to ensure the protection of your carpets, your home, and your family. These Carpet cleaning secrets may in effect save you on both time and money in the long run. So read on and learn a fact or two.

No matter how much cleaning you do and how obsessive you get, nothing beats the cleaning of Professional Carpet Cleaners. One, they have the expertise. Two, they have the best and most high-tech equipment. Three, they have the latest cleaning products and solutions in the market. Fourth, they have skilled technicians. And fifth, they give out warranties.

Having your carpets cleaned every few months will ensure that your carpets will be cleaned thoroughly and not just superficially. Ask neighbors and friends for referrals, look online, and search the yellow pages. Good, quality carpet cleaning companies may be the best kept secret in keeping your carpets clean.

In between professional carpet cleaning company visits, you may also want to personally clean your carpets as often as you can. A simple vacuum cleaner will do the trick. Purchase a vacuum cleaner that will suit your needs. It doesn’t have to be the fanciest or the most expensive, look at quality and sturdiness when buying your machine. You’ll use this machine for a long time so you should want it to be able to handle its job.

If you do your cleaning often, you won’t have to replace your carpets often. So take time to vacuum those carpets. At least once or twice a week is fine, but once a day would be better. Just make sure to use repeated strokes that are not too fast to better pick up as much dirt as the machine can.

If you’re using steamer vacuums and are using detergents, another secret is to rinse out cleaning solutions thoroughly. This is because detergent attracts dirt. So whenever you use detergents on your carpets, don’t hesitate to rinse them twice just to make sure that no residue was left behind.

With all of these carpet cleaning secrets, you are assured that your carpets will not only be clean but they will also stay clean for far longer than usual. Keep your carpets lasting longer and healthier, clean, rinse, and get the services of professionals.

Carpet Stain Removal

Carpet stain removal is by far the greatest task that most every carpet owner deals with. You probably have your own methods of removing stains on your carpet but I have also added a small list of do-it-yourself ways, just in case you haven’t learned these tricks. If you didn’t already know, please take note that whenever you are removing any stain from carpet, ALWAYS dab the stain, NEVER scrub or rub it into the carpet fibers. The reason you dab is to keep from burying the stain deeper into the carpet.Simple Home Remedy

The first step to any carpet stain removal is to carefully remove any debris that are sitting on top of the carpet. If it is solid, remove it gently with a paper towel and dispose of it. Now, if the stain is large you will want to work from the outside and slowly move towards the center. This prevents spreading further out when cleaning the stain. Dab any liquid that is on the surface with a clean, absorbent towel or sponge. Mix a small amount, ¼ cup, of clear dish liquid (like Dawn dish soap) with 1 cup water into a container big enough to hold this mixture. Apply this solution directly to a clean cloth and dampen the carpet fibers, but do not soak the carpet. Dab carpet gently while turning the cloth frequently. If necessary, use your fingertips to work the solution into the base of the stain. After applying the mixture, fill a large cup with warm water and carefully pour water onto treated stain, enough to rinse the dish solution. After applying water cover the entire spot with an absorbent cloth and apply pressure, long enough to soak up the majority of the liquid. Continue the process of blotting and rinsing until all traces of the solution are removed.

**If the stain is removed after this process, cover the entire area with a clean, absorbent towel and place a heavy, object like a stone book end on the towel that will help soak up the remainder of the liquid in the carpet fibers. You will need to continually change towels until the area is dry.

**If the stain is not removed after this process, mix 2 tablespoons of household ammonia with 1 cup warm water in a container large enough to hold the mixture. Carefully pour solution onto the stain. Fill a cup with water and rinse the ammonia solution into the carpet. Then dab the area as described earlier. When your finished dabbing, DO NOT dry the area with paper towels. You need to neutralize the ammonia smell by mixing 1 cup vinegar and 2 cups water in a large enough container and the applying this solution into the carpet fibers. Fill a large cup with water and rinse this solution into the carpet fibers. Finally, you dab the area as done previously and then cover the entire area with a clean, absorbent towel over the area. Place a heavy, object (anything that won’t be damaged by water, like a stone or plastic book end) on the towel to help soak up the remainder of the liquid in the carpet. You will need to continually change the towel until area is dry.

Professional Remedy

For those of you that have tried the home remedy or even used a commercial carpet cleaning spray, and have failed at removing do not hesitate to call the professional cleaners in. These people know that they are doing because they do this or a living.Carpet Stain Removal is part of their job. If they didn’t know how to remove stains they wouldn’t be relied on by so many people. Most professional cleaners use steam cleaning or hot-water extraction machines and most normal people do not have those types of machines lying around their homes.

These machines are designed to get the hottest water into the deepest parts of our carpets. After pushing really hot water into the carpet they then have the ability to use a powerful vacuum to remove most of the water from the carpet, which helps in drying much quicker than a rental cleaner. A few benefits to a professional carpet cleaner, other than removing stains, is that the cleaning they provide helps to kill bacteria, fungus, mold and dust mites living inside the padding of the carpet. So, if all else fails, don’t hesitate. Be confident!
